Managed funds are an investment option to help you save. In a managed fund, your money is pooled with other investors’ money to create greater buying power, giving you access to investment opportunities you may not have as an individual investor.
Unlike a term deposit, a managed fund doesn’t provide a fixed rate of return over a period. This means your return can vary from year to year, and there’s also the risk you could receive less back than what you originally invested.

There’s an estimated annual fund fee of from 0.78% - 0.81%. The fee is expressed as a percentage of the net asset value and has two parts: a fixed management fee (0.74%), and costs and expenses (estimated at between 0.04-0.07% depending on the fund).
Example: Sam invests $1,000 in the AMP Growth Managed Fund at the start of the year and remains an investor at the end of the year. If her balance stays the same, estimated annual fund charges for the year will be about $7.90 (0.79% of $1,000) for the year. These fees might be more or less if her account balance increased or decreased over the year.
